Sandra L. Alexander Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was created by the family and friends of Sandra L. Alexander. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship funds for a graduating senior from Sharon High School.
Chris Bellich Memorial Education Scholarship
This fund was started to honor the memory of Chris Bellich, a Farrell native and longtime Greenville School District educator. The fund will grant an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Greenville High School who intends to pursue a career in education.
Ryan A. Bonner Scholarship Fund
The Ryan A. Bonner Scholarship Fund was established through donations to the Artman Foundation by Mr. Justin Bonner, a Hickory High School alumnus Class of 1996. The scholarship is named in honor of his son Ryan A. Bonner. In Keeping with his value for community service and in recognition of his belief that a college degree is an important component to one’s eventual success, Mr. Bonner annually funds a scholarship for a Hickory High School graduating senior who is underprivileged and in need of financial help to pursue a four year college degree program.
Raymond and Mildred Bost Memorial Scholarship Fund
Raymond and Mildred Bost were active in education in Northern Mercer County for more than 30 years. This scholarship fund was created by their family and friends to provide scholarships for graduating seniors from Reynolds High School and Jamestown High School, who demonstrate a positive attitude to succeed but my be hampered by financial need pursuing his/her higher education goals. Students who have struggled and persevered to become academically successful will receive strong consideration.
Ashley Ann Bryan Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this memorial scholarship fund is to provide two $2,000.00 scholarships awarded to one male and one female Hickory High School students who have proven scholastic abilities, exhibited leadership qualities, and are of high moral character.
The Rebecca Jones Brysh Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this memorial scholarship fund is to provide one (1) scholarship each to one female and one male graduating Farrell High School senior who: participated in at least one athletic event during one scholastic year; maintained an overall grade point average of not less than 3.0 for the 10th, 11th and 12th grade years; and is admitted to a full-time post-high school education program.
Douglas Case Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was created by the 1977 graduating class of Neshannock High School to honor the memory of Douglas Case by providing scholarship funds graduating seniors from Neshannock High School.
Madeline Cashdollar Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound Grove City High
School senior who is a student athlete meeting a certain criteria.

Charlton Dental Professional Scholarship Fund
Created by Dr. Dennis Charlton, to provide an annual scholarship to benefit for a graduating senior or graduate from Lakeview High School who is pursuing training to become a dental hygienist. This scholarship may also be used to provide scholarships to students pursuing other dental related fields.
Steven Chavara Memorial Scholarship Fund
Steven Chavara was well known among sports enthusiasts in Mercer County. For more than 17 years he officiated at both high school and college volleyball matches. In 1997 he was tragically taken from his family and our community by an industrial accident. Through the creation of the Steven Chavara Memorial Scholarship Fund his family has created a lasting memory honoring this man who was beloved by so many. The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship for student athletes who participate in Volleyball programs from the following area high schools: Farrell, Sharon, Hermitage, West Middlesex, Sharpsville, Kennedy Christian and Brookfield.
Hester A. Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this charitable fund is to provide a scholarship to a Lakeview High School senior pursuing a career in education. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: grade point average, ACT/SAT scores, school activities, noteworthy achievements, awards and recognition, work history, class rank or percentile ranking and community or personal activities.
Crisci Scholarship Foundation
This fund was created by the family of Clem Crisci to provide scholarships and general charitable grants within Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. The Scholarships will be made available to graduating seniors from High Schools within Lawrence County who have at least a 2.5 grade point average and can demonstrate a financial need. The Crisci Scholarship Committee shall select the annual scholarship recipients and other grants that may be made charitable organizations.
Deist Millennium Eagle Foundation
This fund has been created by Dale and Barbara Deist to provide charitable funds and an annual scholarship to benefit Boy Scouts from the Northern Mercer County region who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout within the school year the scholarship is presented. The recipient must be planning to attend a trade school or other post-secondary institution of higher learning.
Carol Ann Eagle Foundation
Carol Ann Eagle was a loving mother, daughter and friend. Family and friends, in her memory, have created this Foundation to provide a scholarship to a Lakeview High School graduate who will pursue a career in cosmetology. This profession is chosen in remembrance of Carol Ann because she loved the time she spent working in her salon, and she would take pleasure in helping someone like herself obtain a degree in Cosmetology.
Carl R. Eirich Jr. Educational Scholarship Fund
In remembrance of Carl R. Eirich Jr.’s lifelong pursuit of educational discovery, this
Fund provides a scholarship to a Sharon High School senior pursuing a degree in
education.
Roger Flynn Scholarship
This scholarship provides one-time scholarship to a graduating Grove City High School senior involved in the girl’s basketball program; who will be attending college or a higher form of education. Consideration will be given to those with: high academic achievement, involvement in school activities, who have noteworthy achievements, received awards and recognition, a work history, high class rank, special talent and involvement in community and personal activities.
Leah Furey Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Leah Cristine Furey who died tragically on June 15, 2004, from complications of pneumonia. Miss Furey was a 2004 honors graduate of Lakeview High School and a gifted pianist and musician. Among her many school and community activities, Leah was chosen as the drum major for the marching band, was elected Student Council president, and was selected as Lakeview’s 2003-2004 Homecoming Queen. A young woman of strong faith and moral character, she served as the pianist and organist for the Lakeview United Methodist Church. She planned to pursue a dual major in music education and music therapy at Slippery Rock University. Leah will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her friendly smile and caring spirit.
Bob Gay Memorial Scholarship Fund
This Memorial Scholarship honor’s the memory of all deceased men and women of the Jamestown Volunteer Firemen’s Association, and also honors the many contributions above and beyond the call of duty made by active members. The Scholarship is named for deceased member and Officer Robert T. Gay who was an educator and lifelong student that continually sought knowledge. This scholarship is awarded annually to family members associated with the Jamestown Volunteer Firemen’s Association who are pursuing a higher education. Dale Gilliland Scholarship Fund
Dale Gilliland is a craftsman who enjoyed making beautiful objects out of a simple piece of wood. His family and friends encouraged him to create a scholarship fund that will help a graduating senior from New Wilmington High School with a financial need who plans to pursue a career in woodworking or forest agriculture.
Rick Glenn Memorial Scholarship
TThis fund was established in 2007 in memory of Rick Glenn. Rick was a 1980
graduate and valedictorian of Mercer Area High School. He earned a master's
degree in physical therapy. The Rick Glenn Memorial Scholarship will award a "Top Ten" senior of Mercer High School who is planning to pursue at least a
4-year degree in health care. Primary consideration will be given to a
student majoring in physical therapy. Other programs considered will be
occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing and/or pre-med.Check with the Guidance Office for applications.
Donald Greggs Memorial Scholarship
The Jamestown Area School District is fortunate to have Donald Greggs, Merle Higgins, John Werner and Lucy Rodgers, who were concerned about the future, and laid a charitable foundation upon which the Jamestown Area School District Foundation is established. The purpose of this Foundation is to provide funds to benefit the children and citizens of the Borough of Jamestown, West Shenango Township, South Shenango Township and Greene Township. Joyce Grimenstein Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was created by the family and friends of Joyce Grimenstein who was a devoted to her family, friends and serving the community she loved. This fund will provide scholarship funds for a graduating senior in high academic standing at Sharon High School who is of strong character and is devoted to family, friends, school and the community.
Brian Daniel Grgurich Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund honors the memory of Brian Daniel Grgurich by providing an annual scholarship for a graduating senior involved in the Hickory High School track program who will attend a college or university. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: ACT/SAT scores, school activities, noteworthy achievements, awards and recognition, work history, special talent and community and personal activities.
Ruth Morton Harris and Walter J. Harris Scholarship Fund
This fund was created to provide scholarships for worthy young men and women from Conneaut, Ohio and Albion, Pennsylvania who will be pursuing a secondary college education.
Brenda Rae Haun Memorial Fund
Brenda Rae Haun was a gifted student athlete. Both on and off the field she exemplified tremendous strength and character. This scholarship was created by her parents to honor their daughter whose life ended prematurely. The Haun Family strives to give the youth of our community the knowledge that the citizens of Brookfield Township have confidence in them. Youth are the future – everyone’s future – and through this scholarship a positive attitude is displayed for their endeavors. Check with the Guidance Office for applications.
Dale Edward Haws Memorial Scholarship
This fund has been established by the Northwest Democrat Alliance (NWDA) and
named in honor of its founding president. Mr. Haws, born in Greenville, is a
long-time resident of Transfer. The scholarship will be awarded to a
qualifying senior in the Greenville High School, where Mr. Haws graduated,
and Reynolds High School, where his children graduated. In addition,
applications will be accepted from qualifying students who are members of
the NWDA and from qualifying students who are the children of members of the
organization if the students do not attend the two designated high schools.
Nancy E. Hawthorne Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was created in memory of Nancy Hawthorne, a dedicated wife of Lee Hawthorne and mother of Shaina and Hayden Hawthorne. Nancy took a very active role in activities at school, especially with the wrestling, cheerleading and cross country teams, and was considered the “go-to” person to get things done. Along with her husband, she started the successful reverse raffle fundraiser for the Wrestling Club, which they managed for many years. Nancy was a funny, feisty and headstrong and a good friend to many people. Her presence is greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Because she was so involved with school and so proud of her children’s accomplishments in sports as well as academics, a scholarship was formed to award a deserving student.
Hickory High School Class of 1951 Memorial Fund
The purpose of this scholarship fund is to provide an annual scholarship for graduating seniors from Hickory High School who demonstrate a positive attitude to succeed and are pursuing higher education goals.
Wesley S. Hodge Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was set up to benefit a
graduate of Greenville High School who plans to attend Carnegie Mellon

Jong Sen Hsu Charitable Lead Trust
Jong Sen Hsu was a devoted husband, father and businessman who found a place to call home within the Shenango Valley. Over the years his family has benefited greatly from living within this community. His family has decided to memorialize him by establishing a scholarship that will benefit graduating seniors continuing their education from Hickory High School.
Danielle Lee Kennedy Memorial Fund
Established in May 2008, this fund will honor the memory of Danielle Lee Kennedy, who died at age 16 from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. Danielle was an intelligent, caring, spiritual individual who loved her family and friends and extremely enjoyed art and music. This fund will provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors of Lawrence County Career & Technical Center and Hubbard High School who are continuing his or her education.
Jack Kerins Golf Scholarship
Jack Kerins has had a positive influence upon this community as a husband, father, businessman and golf professional. His family and friends have decided to honor this special man on his 90th birthday by establishing scholarship funds for students who participate within the golf program at Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage, PA.
Sherri Rae Kerns Memorial Scholarship Fund
Sherri was a free spirit who had a special talent in photography and art. Prior to her graduation from Lakeview High School in 1999, she was in a tragic car accident. This scholarship will perpetuate her memory by providing an annual scholarship to a Lakeview High School student who plans to major in art.
Keystone Continuing Education Scholarship
This fund was established in May
2008 to provide scholarship funds for Keystone Education graduates that are
furthering their education.
Hilary T. Kley Scholarship Fund
Established in 1998 by the estate of Hilary T. Kley a lifelong resident of Hermitage, PA. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Hickory High School planning to attend a four-year college.
Bill Knecht Tourism Scholarship
The purpose of this memorial scholarship fund is to provide one (1) $1,000 scholarship to
a sophomore of Grove City College who is pursuing a tourism-related major such as
Marketing, Recreation, Hotel Management, etc. This scholarship will rotate for Thiel and PSU-Shenango in the next two years.
Rebecca Lee Koborie Music Scholarship Fund
The events of September 11, 2001 will reverberate throughout the 21st Century. For the Koborie family of Sharon, it will forever be remembered as the day they lost their beloved daughter, sister and friend. Rebecca Lee Koborie was a special young woman who loved music and life itself. Her family and friends have created this scholarship fund in her memory to benefit a senior from Sharon High School.
Ken Kull Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in November 2007 for the purpose of providing
scholarships for Crawford County residents for further education in the Tool & Die - Plastic Mold Injection Field.
Kulusich-Buzzeo Music Education Scholarship Fund
This award is in honor of Philip Kulusich and Janet Kulusich Buzzeo, two music educators at Hickory High School and Eugene C. Buzzeo. The purpose of the Fund is to provide a financial assistance to a deserving music education student from Hickory High School who participated in music ensembles for all four years and also participated in every music program for one full year.
Lakeview Band Booster Scholarship Fund
This scholarship honors the memory of Tara Smith by providing a Lakeview High School senior a scholarship to pursue a career in the music field, including music education, music business or music therapy. This is to be given out to the student in two portions – upon entering college and after the completion of the junior year of college. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: grade point average, school activities, noteworthy achievements, awards and recognition, community and personal activities and special talents.
The Mildred R. and Bruce A. Landis Charitable Foundation Scholarship
The purpose of this memorial fund is to honor the memory of Mildred and Bruce Landis by providing four (4) scholarships for a minimum of $1,000.00 each to Lakeview High School seniors who have been accepted to or applied to Slippery Rock University, Penn State University or the University of Pittsburgh.
The Virginia Larimer Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this memorial scholarship fund is to provide one (1) $1,000 scholarship and one (1) $500 scholarship to two graduating high school seniors from schools within the Shenango Valley who demonstrates leadership and community involvement and are applying for pharmacy school or a pre-med curriculum.
Ty Longley Memorial Fund
Ty was a gifted musician who had his life taken prematurely. This fund was created by his family and friends to memorialize the life of Ty Longley who loved art and music.
Jerry Lustig Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in 1998. Mr. Lustig, a long-time resident of Hermitage, had been a supporter of Hickory High School athletics for many years. His son and daughter were enrolled at Hickory in the 1960’s. An annual scholarship is presented to deserving college bound senior athlete each spring.
Michael A. Marzano Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 2007, this fund seeks to honor the memory of Marine Sgt.
Michael A. Marzano by providing scholarships to eligible student athletes at
Sharon High School and Reynolds High School, and throughout Mercer County.
Michael died May 7, 2005, while serving his country in Iraq at the age of
28.
Darcy Mansel Memorial Foundation
To honor the memory of his beloved daughter Darcy, her father David A. Mansel has created this foundation to benefit one of Darcy’s favorite charities, the Salvation Army in Sharon, PA.
Hugh P. McClimans Family Foundation
Linda McClimans, and Hugh’s six children have created this Foundation to honor Hugh Paul McClimans Sr., a well-known stonemason bricklayer born and raised in Jamestown, PA. The mission of the Foundation is to provide funds an annual scholarship to benefit the children and citizens of the Borough of Jamestown, West Shenango township, South Shenango Township, and Greene Township resident who are high school graduates and will attend a technical or trade school.
Evan Miklos Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship honors the memory of Evan Miklos by providing a scholarship for a graduating senior involved in Hickory High School who plans on attending a college or university and plans to study photography. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: school activities, noteworthy achievements, awards and recognition, work history, special talent and community and personal activities.
Zachariah R. Miller Foundation
This scholarship was established in memory of second Lieutenant Zachariah Robert Miller who died tragically on July 1, 2002, during an Army training exercise while serving his country. Lieutenant Miller, a 1998 graduate of Lakeview High School and 2002 honors graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, was also a Truman Scholar and the recipient of a prestigeous Rhodes Scholarship. He was deeply committeed to academic excellence, leadership, participation in athletics, as well as selfless service to school activities and community projects.
Jamesa Morrison Memorial Foundation
The charitable fund is to honor the memory of Jamesa Morrison by providing one annual scholarship for a student at Hickory High School who will attend a secondary college or university as a pre-med student. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: grade point average, citizenship, financial need, ACT/SAT scores, school activities, noteworthy achievements, awards and recognition, work history, class rank or percentile ranking, special talent and community and personal activities.
Thomas O. Munnell Memorial Foundation Scholarship
The purpose of this charitable fund is to provide a $500.00 scholarship to a Mercer High School senior who has been active in the forensics program.
Dr. A.M. O’Brien Scholarship Fund
In his last will and testament Mr. John L. Considine, Jr. decided that he would honor the memory of Dr. A.M. O’Brien for his dedication to the health and welfare of our community. This fund will provide an annual scholarship to a nursing student of the Shenango Valley associated with either Sharon Regional Health System or the Penn State Shenango Campus.
Jennifer Hawke-Petit Memorial Scholarship Fund
On July 23, 2007, Jennifer Hawke-Petit was brutally murdered in her home in Cheshire, Connecticut. Her daughters Hayley and Michaela also perished that day. Only her husband, Dr. William Petit managed to survive a vicious beating and house fire.
Jennifer was our friend, classmate and fellow 1980 graduate of Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing. It is her husband's wish that "if there is anything to be gained by the senseless deaths of my beautiful family, it's for all of us to go forward with the inclination to live with a faith that embodies action: help a neighbor, fight for a cause, love your family". Inspired by his words, we have established The Jennifer Hawke-Petit Memorial Scholarship through the Shenango Valley Foundation in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
An annual scholarship will benefit a nursing student who has financial need, satisfactory academic performance, and an interest in the care and welfare of children. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the faculty of the Sharon Regional Health System School of Nursing, formerly the Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing.
Lou Rotunno Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Lou Rotunno Memorial Scholarship Fund is to provide one
(1) $1,000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior of a Beaver, Butler,
Clarion, Lawrence or Mercer county high school.
Kenzie Evon Royer Cheerleading Scholarship
The purpose of this charitable fund is to provide a $500.00 scholarship to a Greenville High School cheerleading senior pursuing entering college or university.
The Royer Scholarship Committee will give consideration to the following criteria:
• Grade point average
• ACT/SAT scores
• School activities
• Noteworthy achievements
• Awards and recognition
• Community and personal activities
If you are applying for this scholarship: You should request that your guidance counselor submit your high school records indicating the courses and grades obtained to date, and a personal reference from a teacher, coach or guidance counselor. Also, if employed you should have your present employer give you a letter of reference that describes your present job, performance, attitude, attendance etc. Attach in writing any community groups or activities that you are involved in, along with picture and essay describing your career goals, life mission and why you love cheerleading.
The Selection Committee, which shall select the Scholarship recipient shall be the committee appointed by the Shenango Valley Foundation. (No scholarships will be given to applicants who are direct relatives of the donors or, to trustees, officers or employees of the Shenango Valley Foundation.)
John L. & Dorothy M. Rust Charitable Fund
This fund was established to provide a scholarship to a Sharpsville High School senior with a financial need who plans to major in Elementary Education. John is a Sharpsville graduate and Dorothy taught Elementary grades in the Sharpsville School District for 30 years.
David T. Rynd Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in honor and memoriam of David T. Rynd for
the purpose of awarding an individual who has a passion for agriculture and
exemplifies the same moral character as Mr. Rynd, such as honesty,
integrity, determination, outgoing personality, kindness to others, and a
competitive spirit. This scholarship will be awarded to a Penn State
University College of Agricultural Sciences student who is in their Junior
or Senior year. The student must be from the 10-county Northwest
Pennsylvania Region including Crawford, Venango, Erie, Mercer, Lawrence,
Forest, Clarion, Butler, Armstrong and Warren counties.
Sharon High School Class of 1950 Memorial Fund
The purpose of this scholarship fund is to provide an annual scholarship for graduating seniors from Sharon High School who demonstrate a positive attitude to succeed and are pursuing higher education goals.
Brandee Simpson Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was created by Brandee’s parents and friends to honor this special young woman whose life ended prematurely. To provide scholarship funds for graduating senior from Sharon High School who may be majoring in English, Writing, Foreign Languages and Law. The applicants should possess academic excellence and church involvement and affiliation.
Anne N. Stanton-Black Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was created to memorialize Anne N. Stanton Black. During her life she strongly supported education, children and her church. Helping others was what she loved to do more than anything else in life. Her family and friends have created this scholarship to help young people succeed in all areas of life. The Kyrsten Elizabeth Studer Memorial Foundation
The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to graduating youngsters from Hubbard and neighboring communities as well as helping young people in need. It is important to her family that Kyrsten’s positive life spirit continues to benefit others. Check with the Guidance Office for applications.
Stoneboro Lions Club Scholarship
The club annually awards a first- and second-place scholarship to two deserving Lakeview High School seniors. All scholarship monies are distributed to recipients upon successful completion of their first semester studies, after receipt of proof of their enrollment for the second semester. Consideration will be given to the following criteria: school activities, community service, leadership qualities, acceptance into an accredited institution and a GPA of at least 2.0. Tommy & Gertrude Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Fund is to benefit graduates of West Middlesex High School who are furthering their education at a college or university. The Scholarship Committee shall select a graduating student from West Middlesex High School who meets the necessary academic standards to attend a college or university but lacks the financial ability to attend.
David Veverka Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in October 2006 to honor the memory of Army Staff Sgt. David Veverka, 25, who died serving his country in Iraq on May 6. The fund will provide scholarships to eligible students in Jamestown and throughout Crawford and Mercer counties.
Sarah S. Ward Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this charitable fund is to provide one (1) scholarship in the amount of $2,000.00 for a female athlete from Hickory High School who will attend a college or university.
Rodney K. Wentling Scholarship Fund
Established in January 2007, this fund will provide a scholarship to a
senior student athlete who is a member of the Greenville High School
wrestling program..
Merry D. Wise Scholarship Fund
Each year five outstanding students from Greenville High School are the recipients of the generosity of Merry D. Wise by being awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Winners must meet the criteria of high academic standards, diverse interests, financial need and plan to attend a four-year college.
Jerry Woods Scholarship Fund
This fund was created by his daughter Nicole and members of his family to perpetuate the memory of Jerry Woods, an outstanding basketball player whose life ended prematurely. The mission of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Mercer High School senior basketball player, who has demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship and determination.
