Daffin Family Foundation
Endowed by the Daffin family to honor Paul “Pete” Daffin, who had a strong interest in helping others and was a supporter of higher education. The Foundation will provide funds for Penn State Shenango and other meaningful charitable projects and scholarships within the community.

John Joseph Daverio Endowment for the Arts

Created in 2003 in memory of Sharon native John Joseph Daverio, this fund was set up to provide scholarship funds for Sharon High School students of music, art and their histories at institutes of higher education.

Emedio "Jack” Debonis Charitable Fund
Jack DeBonis was someone who loved education and was dedicated to helping the people he loved pursue their educational goals. His daughter Donna, as living tribute to her father, created this fund to help the educational pursuits of students whose dreams are larger than their financial portfolio.

Sandra DeJulia Memorial Fund
The purpose of the Fund is to provide funds to honor the memory of Sandra DeJulia by helping families of people with serious medical conditions. The Foundation Board of Directors and Staff shall be entrusted with the responsibility of selecting the appropriate recipients.

W. Allen Dill Memorial Fund
W. Allen Dill was born May 18, 1918, in Sharon, the son of Harry Armitage and Mary Rose McCann Dill. A lifelong area resident, he graduated in 1936 from Sharon High School He earned his bachelor's degree in 1940 from the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity.

Attorney Dill was a pilot for Pan Am Airways in 1941, having achieved a rank of captain. He flew the North and South Atlantic routes until 1942 and Central and South American routes from 1942-43.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 1944-46 in active duty
flying four-engine C planes and in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1946-70 with the Air Corps, attaining a rank of captain. While in the Reserves, he was in charge of four transport squadrons, as well as a number of helicopter squadrons and anti-submarine squadrons.

He was appointed special lecturer with the University of Pittsburgh School of Transportation from 1946-48. In 1948, he received his juris doctorate from the university and was admitted into the bar in 1949.

He had worked as an attorney specializing in state civil litigation and probate and worker's compensation law from 1949 until the present with one law firm that began as Fruit and Frances Attorneys at Law in Mercer County in 1949. The law firm became Fruit, Dill and Goodwin in 1968 and, in 1971, Fruit, Dill, Goodwin and Scholl. He served as assistant district attorney in Mercer County from 1952-54, and as solicitor for the City of Sharon from 1958-68. From 1966-71, he served as special deputy attorney general.

Attorney Dill was a lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Defense Research Institute, Pennsylvania Defense Institute and American Arbitration Association. He also served as a state committee-man (Rep.) from 1954 until 1978.

Some of his memberships include the American Jurisprudence Society, Pennsylvania Bar Association and Mercer County Bar Association, of which he served as president in 1969.

Dog Owner's Group Fund
Established in October 2008, this fund seeks to help further the mission of providing an environment where dog owners can participate together to train their dogs, to have fun with their dogs and undertake activities that help other people.

Eastern Software Foundation
Eastern Software Corporation, a leading provider of software solutions created this Foundation to provide scholarships to local students. The company’s flagship product, Empower! built as a 32-bit, N-tier client/server application offers lenders open architecture with comprehensive design tools, multiple database connectivity and thin-client technology.

eCenter@LindenPointe Endowment Fund
This fund, established in 2011, provides infrastructure that will help entrepreneurs from the regional service area achieve success by encouraging technological innovation and economic growth which will, in turn, improve the conditions of the economically distressed area. This fund will provide assistance to the development, management and promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related ventures.

The Carl R. Eirich Jr. Educational Scholarship Foundation
The foundation’s mission is to ensure that future gerneations of students pursuing higher education and having unmet financial need will be able to share Carl R. Eirich, Jr.’s lifelong love of educational discovery.

Henry and Catherine Evans Charitable Fund

Henry and Catherine Evans devoted their lives to helping make the Shenango Valley a better place. Henry was a leader in economic development and his legacy has been permanently embedded within this community by the establishment of the Henry Evans Industrial Park. The income from this fund may benefit many of the charities that Henry and Catherine loved and supported.

M. Catherine Evans Endowment Fund
This fund was established to benefit the capital needs and improvements of F.H. Buhl Club.

Eyes of Faith Foundation
The purpose of the Eyes of Faith Foundation, which was established January 2009, is to support organizations that have a history of making a positive impact on the lives of children and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

F.N.B. Corporation Fund

Established in 2005, this fund will provide funds for general charitable purposes in the region as determined by its directors.

John S. Fait Memorial Fund

Created in 2003, this fund seeks to honor the memory of John S. Fait by providing funds for charitable purposes within the community that he loved and served faithfully.

Viola J. Falconi Communion Dress Fund
Established in May 2010, this fund will help with the purchase of communion dresses for needy children.

Jeremy Farrand Memorial Fund
Jeremy was a special child who left a memorable impression wherever he went. His life was taken in a random act of violence. A group of teachers and friends who loved him dearly established this fund to honor his memory. This fund makes grants that will remind Jeremy’s classmates of the things that he loved: education, the Buhl Club and children in need.

Farrell Area School District Foundation
Mr. Ted Pedas, a long time benefactor of the Farrell Area School District, planted a seed making the initial contribution to create this Foundation. He would like to see the foundation pave the way for former students to return to Farrell. He said, “This foundation offers us a wonderful opportunity to bridge the past, the present and the future.” The purpose of the Foundation is to develop, promote and finance educational programs, activities and projects for the Farrell Area School District and the children of Farrell and Wheatland. Marvel E. Flint Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in June 2009 to honor Marvel Flint (1920-2008) by her husband, Paul G. Flint, children and extended family to remember her legacy of supporting the educational attainment of youth in the Youngstown, Ohio, and Shenango Valley communities. This fund has partnered with Third Baptist Church of Youngstown, a religious and charitable organization, with the mission to encourage, develop and foster the potential of under-represented college-bound youth who would not normally have the resources to pursue higher learning, achieve their dreams and be productive citizens in the years to come.

Benjamin Franklin Trust
In his 1790 will, American statesman, philosopher, philanthropist and inventor Benjamin Franklin wrote, “I wish to be useful even after my death.” In 1993, the Ben Franklin Trust was established as an area of interest fund, which provides grants to organizations in Mercer and Lawrence counties. The fund came to the Shenango Valley Foundation following a vote of the General Assembly to distribute the proceeds of Franklin’s will.

John S. Fridley Memorial Fund
Dr. John S. Fridley was a local community leader who was very active in making our community a better place. Upon his death his daughters created this fund in his memory.

Friends of the Mercer Area Chamber Fund
Established in November 2008, this fund will provide charitable funds to: Foster, encourage, and promote commercial, civic, and industrial interest in the Mercer area through the collective networking efforts of its membership.

Friends of Prince of Peace Foundation
This fund was started by a man that had gone through a period of being homeless and during that difficult time was helped by the Prince of Peace Center. As a final act of gratitude, when he passed away he gave a small but lasting gift to the Prince of Peace Center to start this endowment fund. Its purpose is to provide charitable funds to support the mission of the Prince of Peace Center, Farrell, Pa.: to bring new life and hope to the area by helping to meet basic human needs. The foundation hopes to foster communication and build bridges of understanding among people of all races, faith, ages and backgrounds.
